The Badgers added the 25th known player to its 2025 recruit class Sunday when Carter Smith, a native of Florida, announced his commitment.

247Sports considers Smith the No. 164 overall recruit in the class of 2025, the No. 15 quarterback and the No. 26 prospect in his home state of Florida. Smith is now the Badgers’ highest-rated high school quarterback commit since Graham Mertz in 2019.

Smith, a Fort Myers, Fla., native, is a four-star prospect and the No. 26-ranked prospect in Florida's 2025 class, according to 247Sports Composite. He's the No. 15 quarterback in the nation and No. 164 prospect nationally overall. Smith, who attends Bishop Verot Catholic High School, is also listed as a four-star prospect by On3, ESPN and Rivals.

It was a double header for the Huskers and Wisconsin. The football teams went head-to-head first resulting in a 44-25 victory, and then it was volleyball's turn.
