Speaking virtually from New York, Hasina accused Yunus of orchestrating violence and alleged genocide and claimed the interim government has failed to protect religious minorities, including Hindus.

Former Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina has accused interim government chief Muhammad Yunus of perpetrating “genocide”. In her first public speech since resigning in August and leaving the country, Hasina also slammed Yunus for failing to protect Hindus and other minority groups.

In her speech, Hasina, who has long had a contentious relationship with Yunus, accused the head of the Bangladesh caretaker government of being the “main perpetrator of genocide” and labelled him as “power-hungry.
