Leaders of the House of Representatives on Sunday called for a probe into Vice President Sara Duterte’s remark that she tasked someone to “kill” President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his wife should she be assassinated.

Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte said on Saturday she would have President Ferdinand Marcos Jr assassinated if she herself were killed, prompting Marcos’ office to vow “immediate proper action.”

Philippine Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin referred to the “active threat” against Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr to an elite presidential guards force “for immediate proper action.” It was not immediately clear what actions would be taken against Duterte.
