Shawn “Mickey” Stines was indicted on one count of murder of a public official, according to a news release from Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman’s office.
The deputy died after an unknown medical emergency. Sheriff Brian Smith wrote that he was an asset to the department and was liked by everyone who knew him.
