A mother and father on Long Island still don't know why their son died while playing in a charity hockey game over the weekend​.

A New York high school ice hockey player has died following a "sudden medical event" during a game on Dec. 1, 2024.

Connor Kasin, a 17-year-old Massapequa High School senior, collapsed over the weekend during a charity hockey game.

Connor Kasin, who played for Massapequa High School and the Long Island Sharks, died after collapsing during a hockey game, officials said.

Kasin, a senior at Massapequa High School, was participating in a memorial game at the Town of Oyster Bay Skating Center for Sabrina Navaretta, a 19-year-old Syosset graduate who was killed in a car crash in 2023.
