Both games will continue to be ‘maintained and updated’ by GOG to stay compatible with new systems for game owners

In light of Blizzard’s plan to delist Warcraft 1 and 2 from GOG, it added: “We want to reveal a new feature to our recently announced Preservation Program. Once a game joins the Program, we pledge to maintain its compatibility even if it gets delisted from the store.

Come later this month, GOG will stop selling the first two entries in Blizzard’s seminal Warcraft real-time strategy game series. On December 13, the marketplace will delist Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft II: Battle.

Blizzard is delisting Warcraft I and II from GOG, the only PC gaming storefront the real-time strategy classics were available on outside of the company’s own Battle.net launcher. The move comes after the recent launch of its own expensive and lackluster remasters of the two games,
