On Friday, November 22, Asia Index Pvt Ltd, BSE's wholly-owned subsidiary, announced the reconstitution of numerous indices.

Stock exchange BSE will add foodtech major Zomato to its flagship BSE Sensex, replacing JSW Steel, from December 23.

Zomato shares jumped more than 7 per cent after share holders nodded to QIP (Qualified institutional placement), of Rs 8,500 crore. Zomato also will be included in BSE's Sensex replacing JSW steel in the index.

Shares of Zomato ended at ₹272.90 on the BSE, up 3.3% on Monday on the back of two triggers — the company's inclusion in the 30-stock BSE Sensex and an approval for its ₹8,500 crore Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP).
