Musical adaptation "Wicked" and action epic "Gladiator II" generated a combined $25.7 million from early screenings in the U.S. and Canada, setting off the biggest box-office battle since "Barbenheimer.

Instead of lounging on the couch after Thanksgiving, Americans headed to movie theaters, as the premiere of Disney’s “Moana 2” and the draw of “Wicked” and “Gladiator II” provided a big boost to the domestic box office.

Moana 2 has beaten both Wicked and Gladiator II at the box office over the five-day Thanksgiving weekend. Per Deadline, Moana 2 made $135.5 million during its opening weekend; although, the movie technically opened on Wednesday and therefore made $221 million during its five-day opening Thanksgiving weekend.
