Tonight was opening night for the fifth annual Zoo Lights at the Topeka Zoo. Many families were out enjoying all of the lights strung around the zoo. Some visitors tonight say they always make it a tradition to come see these lights every year.

5th annual Topeka Zoo Lights opens Friday
The always popular Topeka Zoo Lights opens to the public Friday. The zoo gave 27 News a sneak-peak Thursday night. Director of development, Cynthia McCarvel, said there’s several new displays this year and they require quite a few lights.
Topeka Zoo hosts annual Zoo Lights ‘Dream Night’
The kids get a warm meal and treats, pictures with Santa, and the decorations are tweaked to be more friendly to those who are sensory sensitive.
National Zoo kicks off holiday season with ZooLights
The holiday light exhibit features glowing lantern animals and displays throughout the zoo grounds. Visitors can take a train ride, listen to festive music, and enjoy seasonal treats. ZooLights tickets are $6 per person.
