South Africa have selected their strongest available squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan in order to make full use of their last opportunity to play together ahead of next year's Champions Trophy.

South Africa fast bowler Anrich Nortje's injury woes continued as he was ruled out of the remainder of the Twenty20 series against Pakistan, as well as the three One-Day Internationals, because of a left toe injury,

South Africa will be facing Pakistan in a three-match ODI series from December 17 onwards. The Proteas have named a strong squad for their series against the Men in Green. However, a key pacer has been ruled out of the series.

Maphaka will join Kagiso Rabada, who makes his return to the ODI squad for the first time since the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup semi-final against Australia in November. The squad also features Hollywoodbets Dolphins fast bowler Ottneil Baartman, alongside all-rounders Marco Jansen and Andile Phehlukwayo.
