It was a pretty busy Saturday night in downtown Napa, almost as if you'd never know the atmospheric river passed through just the day before.

After days of relentless rain and winds fueled by a persistent atmospheric river, much of California is now seeing a brief break. However, the state isn’t out of the woods just yet, with more rain and potential flooding forecast in the coming days.

On Thursday, rain poured across the northern edge of the state, slowly moving south. Santa Rosa Airport saw 4.93 inches of rain, shattering its previous daily record of 0.93 inches in 2001.
