It's not the news most golf fans wanted but it's probably not surprising. On Monday afternoon, Tiger Woods announced on social media that he will not compete in the upcoming Hero World Challenge, his annual bash in the Bahamas.

Woods, who underwent a back procedure in September, said he was “disappointed” by not being able to compete this year at the star-studded Hero World Challenge.

Tiger Woods makes his return to competitive golf this week as he tees it up at the Hero World Challenge. The 15-time major champion was last seen at the Masters in April, when he withdrew during the third round and subsequently underwent ankle surgery in a bid to address his latest injury issue.
