Every Auburn football coach in the last 43 years who lasted at least two full seasons won his first or second game against Alabama.

DeBoer said there hasn’t been a day since he took the job at Alabama in which he hasn’t heard something about the Iron Bowl.

The Auburn Tigers want to be a team on the upswing, while Alabama is seeking a consolation prize for a lost season.

When it comes to this year's Iron Bowl, it is not only significant through the fact that it is the first without Nick Saban since 2006, but also that is the first for Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer.
