Clanton's T-2 on Sunday at Sea Island marked his fourth top-10 finish as an amateur on the PGA Tour this year.

From January to November, amateurs have made their presence known on the PGA Tour in 2024. Nick Dunlap became the first am since Phil Mickelson in 1991 to win on the PGA Tour when he captured the American Express title.

Maverick McNealy carded a 2-under 68 on Sunday, November 24, to win the 2024 RSM Classic. After the fourth round, he finished with an aggregate score of 16-under, securing a one-shot victory over Nico Echavarria, Daniel Berger, and amateur Luke Clanton.

Luke Clanton tied for second at the RSM Classic, another incredible finish for the amateur and another big paycheck he couldn't collect.

In May, Michael Thorbjornsen finished No. 1 in the PGA Tour U standings, which meant an immediate promotion to the big leagues. Luke Clanton is on the fast track to duplicate that. He earned another point in that quest by making the RSM cut.
