Austin police have evacuated homes near the intersection of Garden and Robert T. Martinez Jr. streets in East Austin while the SWAT unit seeks to resolve a "barricaded subject" incident. Austin police SWAT is responding to a barricaded subject inside a vehicle in East Austin. The incident began early this morning.

A family disturbance call led to a SWAT callout in east Austin early Sunday morning, according to the Austin Police Department. Austin police said the callout ended peacefully around 12:25 p.m. with the suspect in custody.

Police said officers were called to the scene around 5:38 a.m. after reports of a family disturbance with one person possibly armed.
