Yak Gotti was arrested in May 2022 alongside fellow YSL affiliates, including Young Thug and Gunna, and was indicted on RICO charges for his alleged involvement in gang-related activities in Georgia.

A day after being stabbed in jail, Yak Gotti has been found not guilty on all charges against him in the longest trial in Georgia history. According to WSB-TV, Yak Gotti and Shannon Stilwell were the last two alleged members of YSL on trial for various charges relating to racketeering and gang activity;

The jury found Deamonte Kendrick, who raps as Yak Gotti, not guilty on all charges. The jury found Shannon Stillwell guilty on only one charge for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Stillwell was sentenced to the 10-year maximum with credit for the two years he already served. The balance will be served on probation.
