The Tri-State Area is on Red Alert this morning due to snow and expanding winter weather alerts. As of this morning, several counties northwest of New York City are under a winter storm advisory, and counties further out are under winter storm warnings.

Millions of people from the Ohio Valley to the mid-Atlantic and Northeast are in the path of a brewing winter storm that’s expected to dump heavy snow over the higher elevations, while major cities along the Interstate 95 corridor receive much-needed rainfall.
