The loss knocks UCF (4-7) out of bowl contention and guarantees back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since the 2015-16 seasons.

The West Virginia Mountaineers became bowl eligible with a victory against the UCF Knights by winning six games on the season. The Mountaineers have one game remaining next Saturday against the Texas Tech Red Raiders,
