Austin police have asked the public to avoid the area near the intersection of Castro Street and Pleasant Valley Road in East Austin. SWAT is on the scene responding to a "barricaded subject" in the 2200 block of Castro,

Police said officers were called to the scene around 5:38 a.m. after reports of a family disturbance with one person possibly armed.

The Austin Police Department’s SWAT team is responding to a call in east Austin on Sunday morning, according to a social media post. Police said SWAT responded to the 2200 block of Castro Street in response to a barricaded subject.
