I wanted to see Denali and it was worth the 3 night package. Anchorage is a good send off place to start, but you have to go a ways to see anything spectacular. There are great Parks and an Alaskan Native museum that was very interesting in Anchorage.
Did you have a car? I've never traveled without, but it seems I wouldn't need one on the tour I'm looking at. Except, I'm wondering how you manage luggage without a car-- For example--Can you bring your luggage with on the train when you leave Denali and head to anchorage? Also, any hotels or particular excursions that you'd recommend ? Thanks:) Jamie

Don't need it for the excursions as it is inclusive. they take care of everything. I used a carry on for the trip.
